OpenSky is an open platform, working with Shopkeepers across diverse categories. Our Shopkeepers are authors, bloggers, TV personalities, editors, professors and world-renown experts; each has a powerful combination of influence, a loyal audience and brilliant storytelling ability.

OpenSky was founded by John Caplan in April 2009. John is the former CEO of Ford Models and former President of the About.com Network. OpenSky is funded by leading venture capital firms: Highland Capital Partners, Canaan Partners, and Ron Conway.  The OpenSky Board of Directors is led by Bob Davis, the Founder and former CEO of Lycos; Dan Ciporin, the former CEO of Shopping.com; and Scott Kurnit, the Founder and former CEO of About.com.
